The Beef Committee of the Camrose 4-H District Invites You to a 4-H Judging Seminar Saturday January 23 10:00 am to 1:30 p.m. during the Canadian Bull Congress at the Camrose Regional Exhibition
Who - Open to all 4-H members
What - A judging workshop consisting of three sessions running in three different rooms. Please see session descriptions for information to be covered in each session, and age restrictions. There are maximum numbers a club may register for session 1 and 2.
Cost - $7.00 per person (includes Lunch) Payable to Camrose District 4-H Beef Committee. ONLY ONE CHEQUE PER CLUB!
Registration is non-refundable. Clubs are responsible to find their own substitutes.
Volunteers - Each club must supply volunteers to help with the event. If your club registers 10 or less members, you must supply one volunteer, more than 10 members, you must supply two volunteers. If you register more than 20 members, you must supply 3 volunteers. Please include the names, addresses and telephone numbers of the volunteers on your registration form, so that we can send them a job description before the seminar. Lunch is provided to volunteers at no charge.
NOTE - We will finish all sessions at lunch time to allow delegates and volunteers time to look around Bull Congress
Registration Deadline - December 15, 2009 - Registration is on a first come first served basis. If sessions are full prior to deadline, we will not accept more members. Letters of confirmation are sent to accepted clubs and will be put in the mail on January 2nd, 2010. Cheques will be returned to clubs who have not been accepted.

Who 4-H members aged 9 - 12 years with little or no judging experience
Maximum Registration per Club: 7 members
To Be Covered:
- Introduction to judging
- Basic judging skills
- Introduction to reasons
- Judging beef cattle
Maximum Total Registration: 90 members
Session 2
Who 4-H members aged 12 and older
Maximum Registration per Club 6 members
To Be Covered May Include:
- Oral Reasons
- Relationship of Form and Function
- Using Positive Comparisons
- Judging Beef Cattle
- Taking Notes
Maximum Total Registration: 70 members
Session 3
Who Members 14 years of age or older. We recommend that delegates to this session have attended Session 2

Focus on judging: Beef Light Horse Draft Horse
Maximum Total Registration 60 members
Registration Deadline December 15, 2009 (First come, first served) IMPORTANT - Clubs who do not fill in the form correctly will be placed at the bottom of the list of applicants and may not be accepted, so don’t try to register too many per session or members in sessions they are not old enough for.
