The 4-H Alberta Hall of Fame

The Alberta 4-H Hall of Fame is designed to honour persons who have made outstanding contributions to 4-H and who have been active at the regional level and beyond. The recipients are known for their involvement with young people and have also played a part in motivating others who are involved with youth groups. These honoured individuals have contributed a great deal of time and effort to 4-H on a volunteer and/or professional basis and have exemplified the 4-H image.

Anyone who has been involved with 4-H for at least fifteen years is eligible for nomination by an individual or the 4-H council. Recipients are selected by a committee consisting of an Alberta Agriculture staff person, an 4-H Alberta Council member and a previous inductee. The recipients are honoured at the annual Provincial Leaders' Conference banquet.

From 1971 until 1977, there were eleven individuals honoured. In 1981, it was decided to make the award an annual event, providing there are suitable recipients each year.
