4-H Alberta - 4-H Horsemanship Clinic (Levels 1-3)

Cost

Participant Fee: $200.00 (includes two days of instruction, lunch x 2, coffee breaks x 4)

Stalling – Includes shavings: $75.00 (Friday & Saturday nights)

Power Hookups: $30.00

Spectator - Single Day: $55.00 (includes one lunch and coffee breaks x 2)

Spectator - Both Days: $95.00 (includes lunch x 2 and coffee breaks x 4)

Location Olds Regional Exhibition

Start Time:  Registration at 8:30 a.m.  Clinic starts at 9:00 a.m. SHARP

What to Bring:  Clipboard, paper, pen, Horse Reference Manual, Level 1-3 Assessments

Join equine leaders from across the province and gain a fuller understanding of 4-H Levels 1-3 in a hands on environment. Work with other leaders and the clinician to learn how to properly teach members the skills required for the Mounted Assessments. In pairs, one leader will be mounted and other teaching to practice the new techniques and skills learned. Senior members can register as spectators. Come an learn about the 4-H program rider mounted levels!

The instructor will work with leaders to teach them how to properly teach members the skills required for the Mounted Assessments. Participants will work in pairs - one mounted and one teaching to practice the teaching skills learned.

We invite all equine project leaders to apply for this clinic. Senior members can register as spectators as well. 

We will accept up to 12 rider participants and an unlimited number of spectators. Participants ride and teach; spectators will learn through observation.

Audience

Rider spots are limited. Open to all Equine Leaders and Volunteers. Senior members are welcome to register as spectators. Note that spectators will learn through observation. Questions from the spectators may be permitted at the discretion of the instructor. 

Accommodation is available in Olds. For hotel accommodation in Olds, please make your own arrangements. The O.R. Hedges Lions Campground is located next to the ORE grounds (http://www.oldslionsclub.com/OldsLionsCampground.htm). Hookups are available onsite at ORE for a charge. 


Provincial Event Registration Policies

  • Online Registration opens at 12:00 am on the first day of registration and is available 24 hours a day until midnight of the registration deadline.
  • Registration is not considered complete until full payment is received.
  • All requests for late registration (after the Regular Registration Deadline) will be accepted at the sole discretion of the program lead and will be subject to an additional fee of $50.00 on top of the Regular Registration cost.
  • An administrative fee of $50.00 will be retained on all cancellations. Cancellations received less than 14 days before the event start date will forfeit the entire registration fee unless a delegate replacement is available or extenuating circumstances are at play.
